Chris Devonshire-Ellis established Dezan Shira & Associates in 1992. Since then the practice has expanded across Asia and India and has some 20 offices throughout the area. The 2point6billion.com brand refers to the combined populations of China and India and has become one of the firm's more popular online titles in terms of reaching out to clients and readers interested in the region.
The firm's China and Indian practices provide foreign investors into India with business advisory, corporate establishment, tax planning, regulatory advice and on-going tax filing, accounting, payroll and compliance services, and includes multinational clients from the United States, Europe, Australiasia and across Asia. The firm handles clients across India based from their primary offices in Delhi and Mumbai, and in China from four large principal offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Hong Kong and an additional seven offices in second tier cities. The practice employs several hundred lawyers, accountants and auditors within the practice in these countries.
