On the Cathay-Delhi flight, which departs HongKong at 10:30pm and arrives, somewhat unkindly, at 02:15 in the morning, meaning an hotel arrival at around four in the morning. As is usually the norm in India over having to ‘configure’ my room (arrange for the TV to work, ask for extra hangers, an iron and an internet connection), everything is now sorted although I didn’t get up to much, which is understandable. However, just one glance at my Delhi hotel bookstore is revealing in terms of differences between Chinese and Indian geographic and written honesty and liberalism. “A History of Tibet” is one glossy title, “by the Dalai Lama”.
