India is definitely the Long term story. You have a parallel discussion on Vietnam and the possibilities. I just commented that manufacturing units are expanding in Vietnam to compensate for the stretched supply chain. I also believe long term and when India gets it's politics & infrastructure in place you will see industries by their dime dozen thousands moving to INdia. Chris also mentions this in his reply on the Caparo Group.

Lets not forget it's India's geography which will facilitate easier logistics - India's land mass is a pensisular with sea and the ample opportunity to get the exports out through various gateways. The challenge today is the gateways are limited!! Wait and see where & how private participation in the SEZs with their own ports, rails, power, infrastructure are going to change the face of India and the development index of this planet.

My bet is on India for long term. China is progressing very fast but future is uncertain because of political monopoly there. One more Tienanmen Square like incident can not be said to be certain but if it happens it will hinders business. So for short term, it is ok to put your investment in China but if you want to get long term return, no place is better then India.
I don't want to give a lecture here, but I can feel that optimism in Indian youths about future.

I put my money on India LONG and China SHORT...but you'll have to hear me speak to find out why. We'll list events about this shortly. Thanks for the comments about the blog incidentally. All remarks are welcome, it's a developing and truly fascinating subject. In my career I never thought I would have the opportunity to deal with two emerging markets like this, so it is a real pleasure and an honor to be able to see similar minded people - debating these issues here. It's much appreciated.

Everyone has opinion and the blog is to share your opinions as long as they are not offensive. If you write towards the comments from Sanders I am sure she has some buyers in her thoughts - NOT me.
As for 2point6billion.com - i think their exposure is fantastic.
