CD-E , its the otherway around. AP with india and AC to china, as crucial to access the turbulant regions of the west. Also, the chinese hv agreed to the mcmohan line in burma as a inter. border way back in the late 50's.

britain's role in the world and indeed in s asia has not bn laudatory...this- even as it struggles to be relavant in a fast and dynamic backyard and the world...even individuals find it difficult to let go of illusions of grandure , nations even more so.

Personally I would agree with that Sandeep, however the Chinese do not see it that way. I did hear unofficially that if India gave Arunachal Pradesh to China, China would relinquish claims on Aksai Chin to the West. Go figure: Arunachal Pradesh is agriculturally fertile, Aksai Chin is high altitude desert. Some deal.

LOL. Does British govt still think that it has the authority or the capacity to redefine borders after it was kicked out 60+ years ago from the continent? This is a clear case of misconception from the British. As far as Tibet goes: It is being added into China's empire by force. Chinese are powerful economically as well as military wise. British govt first caved in on Hong Kong and then caved in on Tibet. Arunachal Pradesh is a different story...it is a part of the Indian Union (Tibet was never a part of the Union). Chinese should recalibrate their desire for expansion. It is impossible. And as far as Britain's records and announcements are concerned: They have absolutely no resonance or value in this context. It was important 100 years ago..not anymore.
