Nov. 26 – Hans Rosling’s presentation at TED India this year gave his views on when China and India are likely to overtake the economy of the United States in size. Using data the dates back to 1858, he provided a thought-provoking look at how to interpret the figures during his speech at TED India.
Rosling co-founded the Gapminder Foundation and developed the Trendalyzer software that converts international statistics into moving, interactive and enjoyable graphics. The aim is to promote a fact-based world view through increased use and understanding of freely accessible public statistics. His lectures using Gapminder graphics to visualize world development have won awards and are both humorous yet very serious. It’s well worth a view.
