Zenith CEO: India, China to Drive Global Advertising Revenues


Nov. 26 – Zenith Optimedia Worldwide CEO Steve King predicts that new and emerging advertising markets like India and China will power the global advertising industry’s recovery reports The Economic Times.

He says: “India, with an approximate 10 percent growth, will certainly be in the top ten advertising markets in absolute dollar terms by 2015.”  Zenith Optimedia is the third largest media-buying agency in the world and remains bullish on its Indian prospects.

Zenith has bagged advertising contracts in India amounting to US$100 million for this year alone. The Indian market is the company’s third largest growth market globally.

The Indian advertising industry is also forecast to expand 10 percent annually. Regarding newspaper advertising, King said: “We expect newspaper advertising to grow by 7 percent, making this among the very few markets where newspapers continue to grow.”

“Most of our international markets are between 15 to 20 years old, so despite being here for only five years, this market has responded very well. Our focus here will be on winning local clients, apart from the international ones.”
