Dec. 9 – The Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) said it expects mainland exports to grow 15 percent next year.
A director at the academy, Pei Changhong, predicts that global outlook for 2010 would be moderate but would show steady improvement after Chinese New Year.
CASS estimates that Chinese exports declined by 17 percent this year compared to a 17.2 percent in 2008. The 15 percent figure is higher than predicted by analysts who generally indicate an increase of between 6 to 7 percent for 2010. The State Council’s Development Research Center on the other hand, predicts a 10 percent rise for next year.
