Jan. 27 – Our good friends over at Gateway House, an India policy think tank based in Mumbai, have recently produced an interesting piece on President Hu Jintao’s trip to the United States and how prior meetings President Obama held with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh may have impacted upon this.
Entitled “How India helped China in Washington,” the piece describes how Indo-U.S. business dealings and the U.S. Federal Reserve’s money-printing initiative may have saved Chinese President Hu Jintao the headache of explaining – to his American counterpart – China’s stealth fighter shocker, undervalued currency, and giant trade surplus. It’s a thought provoking insight into how China and India may work together to occasionally defang U.S. political pressures and can be accessed from the Gateway House web site.
