Outcomes of APEC’s 10th Energy Ministerial Meeting

Jul. 6 – From June 24 to June 25, the leaders of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum met in St. Petersburg, Russia for the 10th Energy Ministerial Meeting (EMM10) to discuss energy security and strategy challenges facing the region. Energy ministers, as well as other government and industry representatives, discussed the increasing vulnerability of APEC countries to the volatile global energy market. “APEC members together account for 60 percent of global energy demand, and include four of the world’s largest energy consumers,” explained APEC Secretariat Executive Director Ambassador Muhamad Noor, originally from Malaysia.
